This toolbox from ar engineers enables you to immediately perform preliminary design calculations for your adhesive joints and gain a better understanding of how the joint parameters affect their strength and stiffness performance. This enables you to achieve significant cost and weight savings for your projects without the need of extensive expertise in structural mechanics or adhesive technology.

This tool utilizes advanced analytical methods to calculate distribution of transverse shear and peel stresses in the bondline of rectangular single lap joints under tension, transverse shear or bending. By identifying the critical peaks of these stress components and deriving a 3D stress state, our toolbox evaluates the strength performance of the adhesive material considering selected failure criteria.

This results in inverse reserve factors (IRFs) which display the percentage exhaustion of the material strength.

The obtained results can be used as a basis for you to then perform or request a more detailed, application-specific joint design from us.

The processing of your calculation happens automatically and immediately. For a validation of your input parameters and environmental influences please contact info@ar-engineers.de. Please observe the instructions for entering your parameters and the limits of the calculation methods.

There is no need of advanced knowledge in the field of structural analysis or adhesive joining technology. However, a basic understanding of structural mechanics and adhesive bonding is recommended.

Starting from February 1, 2023, the use of calcbond's full feature set will be charged.
A Pro subscription is 325€ and includes requesting 5 FEA jobs per month. If you are a new user, you start with a 1-month trial period which allows you to test all our features. Without the Pro plan, you will still be able to perform analytical calculations, but you will not be able to perform Design Space Explorations or save a PDF report of your calculation. You will also not have access to the AutoFEA module or the Material Cards section.
